Supreme Court Justice says House can be resurrected
A Supreme Court Justice has said that the dissolved legislature-parliament can be resurrected in order to end the political impasse facing the country.
Justice Damodar Prasad Sharma said that the resurrected House can do away with all the prevailing obstacles to pave the way for a free and fair election and give a way out to the country.
Speaking at a programme entitled “Constitutional Crisis and the Judiciary” held in the capital on Monday, Justice Sharma said that since the parliament was dissolved without fulfilling the task entrusted to it and when it still had some time left, the House can again be resurrected again on those same grounds.
He was also of the opinion that the President won’t have to wait for anybody’s request to resurrect the parliament so as to give a way out to the ongoing political deadlock that mars the nation.
“The President can help resurrect the parliament by just sending a letter to the Speaker of the dissolved House,” he said. nepalnews.com
