Ruling parties’ mass meet exposes malicious intention to thwart all outside criticism: UML leader
A senior CPN (UML)leader has termed the decision of the ruling parties led by UCPN (Maoist) to hit the streets with the intention to threaten the opposition parties as a “shameful act”.
Shankar Pokhrel, who is the secretary of CPN (UML), severely criticized the decision of the ruling parties to take to the streets in a show of strength against the opposition. He said this move by the ruling parties is outrageous at a time when the streets have become the only place for the opposition to vent their dissatisfaction over the workings of the government in the absence of parliament.
Pokharel, who was speaking at an interaction organised by Reporters Club in the capital, said that this incident has shown that the mindset of the leaders of the ruling parties is similar to the former autocratic king Gyanendra.
He, however, said that the mass meeting organised by the ruling alliance a day after a major protest programme of the opposition parties is infact an opportunity to expose the malicious intention of the ruling parties to thwart all outside criticism and opposition. Nepalnews.com
