UCPN (M) again talks of neutral Prime Minister
The UCPN (Maoist) on Thursday reiterated that it is ready to quit the government provided there is an understanding between the parties to form a government headed by a neutral person "to conduct the elections by the end of May".
"The party has again emphasised that the elections should be held within Jestha 15 by forming a government headed by an independent person," party spokesperson Agni Sapkota said after a meeting of the general convention organising committee. He said the party favoured this option in view of the lack of trust between the parties.
The party also passed its constitution to be presented in the general convention starting from February 2 in Hetauda. According to Sapkota, the party is going to adopt the policy of "collective leadership with personal responsibility".
Today's meeting also decided to allow combatants who were discharged after opting for voluntary retirement to participate in the general convention as invited representatives. Nepalnews.com
