Former Crown Prince Paras Shah, who was in coma for the past 11 days, has regained consciousness, doctors tending to the former royalty at a Bangkok hospital have said.

Shah was rushed to Samitivej Hosipital in Bangkok on February 19 after suffering a major heart attack. He is, however, still on life support, and is being treated at the Samitivej Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, said the hospital.

There is a continuous improvement in his medical condition, said the hospital, adding that he can now recognise people. Active and coordinated movement is noted in all his limbs, said Cardiologist Dr Mann Chadavimol.

The news comes two days after former King Gyanendra and his wife Komal went to Bangkok to take stock of the health condition of their son. Paras' wife Himani is also in the Thai capital. nepalnews.com
