Kalimati market marks first anniv of deadly fire
Kalimati Fruits and Vegetable Market was shut on Sunday to mark one year since a massive fire in the area killed six people, and gutted property worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
A religious programme was organised at the market today to pray for the departed souls.
The day is a stark reminder of the government's unfulfilled promises, said vegetable vendors in the market.
Although the government had assured compensation for the kin of the fire victims, it is yet to do so, they said. nepalnews.com |
