Supply of petroleum products halted

The supply of petroleum products from India has been halted after the protest of tanker operators following the murder of a tanker driver in India.

A tanker driver identified as Ajmad Dewan who had gone to Barauni to supply petroleum products was looted and killed in India on Thursday.

The tanker operators have been protesting by halting the supply of fuel demanding compensation of Rs. 2.5 million to the kin of the driver.

Despite Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) outstanding dues to the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), IOC has decided to supply the fuel smoothly. However, the tanker operators' agitation from Sunday has been causing scarcity of fuel in the country. nepalnews.com
