Dr Koirala resigns as TUTH executive director

Dr Bhagwan Koirala has resigned as the executive director of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Maharajgunj.

He tendered his resignation to Dr Prakash Sayami, the dean of Institute of Medicine (IoM), citing lack of internal cooperation in implementing the changes he had initiated, it is learnt.

Dr Koirala, a renowned cardiac surgeon, was appointed TUTH executive director in November 2012. Previously he worked as director of Sahid Ganga Lal Heart Centre, Bansbari.

He is credited with turning the Heart Centre into one of the most well-functioning government health institution, providing affordable and reliable services. nepalnews.com
