YAN cadre shot at

A local leader of UML-affiliated Youth Association Nepal (YAN) was shot and injured -- allegedly by cadres of the Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist in Khotang.

Pabin Rai, chairman of Nepa village committee of YAN was shot by a group of CPN-M cadres in the middle of dispute the two sides had in course of a publicity campaign of YAN cadres for the convention of their village committee. Two of those involved in the shooting have been identified as Lokendra Rai and Dhruwa Rai, reports said. The two are absconding after the incident.

Rai, who received two bullets is undergoing treatment at Khotang District Hospital and is said to be out of danger. nepalnews.com
