PM directs TU VC to persuade Dr Koirala to withdraw resignation

Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai said on Monday night that he has directed Tribhuvan University vice-chancellor Hira Bahadur Maharjan to persuade Dr Bhagawan Koirala, who called it quits on Friday, to withdraw his resignation.

PM Bhattarai informed in a tweet that the government had also provided Rs 50 million to TUTH to overcome the financial problem. Bhattarai has also called on all concerned to resolve the problems facing the state-run hospital, instead of engaging in blame game.

Dr Koirala resigned as executive director stating that he did not receive cooperation from co-workers, and the institution was in financial doldrums due to lack of support from the government. nepalnews.com
