Fuel supply to be normal
Supply of petroleum products is likely to be normal following an agreement between agitating tanker operators and the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Tuesday evening.
Talks between the two sides held at NOC’s office in Babarmahal ended in an understanding. As per the understanding, provide Rs. 800,000 to the kin of tanker driver Ajmad Dewan, who was looted and murdered during his course of work in India, last week, according to NOC.
Similarly, the tanker workers were also assured of insurance up to Rs. 500,000 and their security among others by the government.
Following the consensus, the supply of the petroleum products will be eased, said NOC spokesperson Siva Prasad Pudasaini.
The tankers operators have been protesting by halting the supply of fuel demanding compensation of Rs. 2.5 million to the victim’s family. nepalnews.com
