AFC cup qualifiers: Do or die for Nepal in today's encounter against Palestine

Nepal are to take on Palestine in their last encounter, dubbed as a do-or-die match for the host side, in the AFC Challenge Cup Group D Qualifiers in Kathmandu, on Wednesday evening.

Nepal have to beat giants Palestine by a three goal margin to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the next round of the AFC's second tier tournament to be held in the Maldives in 2014. The margin will go up if.

Mighty Palestine are at the top of the chart with six points after winning two matches against Bangladesh 1-0 and Northern Mariana Island (NMI) 9-0. However, Nepal have defeated NMI by 6-0 and lost to Bangladesh by 2-0.

Similarly, Bangladesh will take on NMI in the first match of the day.

Meanwhile, All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has rescheduled today’s matches in view of the nationwide shutdown. ANFA, however, cited 'technical reasons' for the new schedule.

As per the reschedule, the NM-Bangladesh match will kickoff at 3.15 pm while that between Nepal and Palestine at 6.15 pm. nepalnews.com
