Tibetans in India demand self-immolator's body from Nepal
Members of Students for a Free Tibet (SFT) in India have started a campaign in Dharamshala demanding that Nepal handover the body of a Tibetan who immolated himself in Kathmandu on February 13.
Drupchen Tsering, who was living in Nepal, lit his body on fire to protest "China's continued crackdown and brutal rule in Tibet," Indian media quoted SFT as saying in press release.
Copies of the signed petitions will be delivered to the Nepal Embassy in Delhi and mailed to US, British and Indian Embassy in Nepal in the coming few days, stated the press release.
Nepali Home Ministry officials declined to comment on the demand and said that the issue would be handled according to "existing legal provisions." nepalnews.com |
