Kaligandaki repairs complete; Outage hours likely to go down
Nepal Electricity authority is likely to slash outage hours after the country's biggest hydropower project, which was shut down for repairs, has started producing power.
The 144 megawatt Kaligandaki 'A' project located in Krishnagandaki
VDC-8 of Syangja was under maintenance for a week. Project technicians had carried out repairs on the turbine as well as inlet valve of the hydel's dams, said local reports quoting NEA officials .
Authorities had said that power outage hours could go up as the project was shut. However, that did not happen.
The country has been facing 12 hours of daily power outage for the past few months. nepalnews.com |
