No consensus yet on new govt
The four major political forces - UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Madhesi Front - failed to arrive at an agreement Friday on formation of an election government headed by the Chief Justice even as the leaders had claimed after Thursday's meeting that they would seal the deal today.
The meeting of the top leaders seemed nowhere close to resolving some of the thorny issues including ways to remove constitutional hurdles, the draft of the proposed Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the ranks for the Maoist combatants to be integrated into the Nepal Army.
They met at the secretariat of the Army Integration Special Committee, Naya Baneshwor, after a marathon meeting of the eight-member taskforce.
Madeshi Front leader and Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar said the leaders will meet on Saturday as well. nepalnews.com
