Dr Bhagwan Koirala, who recently resigned from the post of TU Teaching Hospital Executive Director, has said that the media's reaction to his decision was a 'little' exaggerated.
The renowned cardiac surgeon, who was appointed TUTH executive director in November 2012, had resigned from his post last week citing lack of support from hospital staffers.
"It seemed to me that the reaction of media to my resignation and their comments regarding TUTH faculty in general was little
exaggerated," said Koirala on his Facebook. "I must clarify that I have great working relationship with most of the faculty (senior and junior) and they have contributed to the service greatly."
The government had been under mounting pressure to reinstate Koirala, who has been credited for the success of the Sahid Gangalal National Heart Centre. Late last week, the Prime Minister had said he has directed the TU Vice-chancellor to persuade Koirala to reconsider his resignation.
The PM himself and TU have expressed commitment to support TUTH and give more autonomy to IOM, but a formal decision on the issues have not been taken, added Koirala. "Regarding your request to withdraw my resignation, I need little time to see how things actually progress." nepalnews.com
