BIMSTEC's conference from March 12 in India
The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) conference on “BIMST-EC: What is Achieved and Where to go?” is going to be held in Kolkata, India from March 12-14, 2013.
Representatives from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Thailand and Myanmar are scheduled to participate in the conference organised by the Centre for Studies in International Relations and Development (CSIRD) and Institute of Foreign Policy Studies, University of Calcutta.
From Nepal, Nishchal N. Pandey, Director of the Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS), will present a paper on 'increasing connectivity and people to people contacts among BIMST-EC member states'.
The BIMSTEC comprising Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand established in 1997, sharing about 22 percent of world population and 3.64 percent of surface area.
