'PM will hand over power to CJ without announcing resignation'

Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai's chief political advisor Devendra Poudel Monday said the PM is not going to announce his resignation when he paves the way for Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi to head an election government.

"It's going to be handover of government leadership. The PM won't announce his resignation," Poudel said while speaking during a media gathering organised by the pro-Maoist Revolutionary Journalists Association in Baglung on Monday. He argued that 'resignation' will only complicate things.

Poudel also accused the opposition parties of trying to avoid elections, claiming that a unity government under Bhattarai's leadership is still the first option.
