Eleven student unions affiliated to various opposition parties on Friday submitted a memorandum to Minister for Infrastructure Development and Transport Hridayesh Tripathi putting forth various demands, including withdrawal of recently hiked public transport fares.
Meeting the minister at his office in Singha Durbari, the representatives of the student unions demanded that the government
revoke its decision to hike public transport fares by nine percent.
They have demanded that students be given a 50 percent concession on fares.
