Fringe parties up in arms against four-party plan to form CJ-led govt
Twenty two smaller parties decided to launch protest government if the four major political parties go ahead with their plan to install an election government headed by the Chief Justice.
A meeting of the 22 smaller parties represented in the dissolved Constituent Assembly including the Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist rejected the idea of CJ-led government, concluding that the new Prime Minister should be from within the parties.
They also decided to request President Ram Baran Yadav not to approve the four-party decision on CJ-led government.
The fringe parties' decision comes a day after a discussion with the four major parties - UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Madhesi Front. They had reiterated the same position in the meeting with the big parties. Nepalnews.com
