Israelis volunteer at Child Protection Home
The Embassy of Israel continued volunteering at the Child Protection Home at Siphal, Kathmandu on March 12 and 13, 2013.
Israelis living in and travelling to Nepal participated in the service together with the members from the “Shalom Club”, a club of Nepalis who studied in Israel and the Embassy staff, said the Embassy in a press statement.
“Main focus was given to cleaning and painting walls of the rooms and building. Repair and maintenance of the infrastructures was carried out. And carpets and lighting system were changed. A proper drainage system was also built along with toilets.” it added.
Free health camp for children living at the home was organised by Dr. Ram Prasad Upreti and his medical team on 12 March while free medicines health education was provided to children and staffs of the Home, and said the Embassy.
Child Protection Home, established under Nepal Children’s Organisation, is an organisation that provides safe and caring environment for rescued dependent children of imprisoned parents. nepalnews.com
