Writ challenges formation of CJ-led govt
A writ was filed at the Supreme Court on Thursday, challenging the formation of the interim election government led by the Chief Justice through an ordinance that paved the constitutional way to formation of such a government.
Advocates Chandra Kanta Gyawali and Madhav Aryal in their writ argued that the ordinance issued by the President the subsequent appointment of Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi as the chairman of the interim election government breached the constitution.
The two lawyers filed the writ hours after CJ Regmi and two ministers were sworn.
The apex court is yet to give its verdict on a similar writ, which was registered weeks ago, challenging the idea of a government headed by the sitting Chief Justice. Nepalnews.com
