Attorney General Mukti Pradhan resigned from his post on Friday. He tendered his resignation to the chairman of the interim election government Khil Raj Regmi.
In the resignation letter, Pradhan mentioned that he resigned in view of the changed political scenario with the formation of the new government.
The then Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai had appointed him to the post on September 9, 2011.
Recently, Prachan had courted controversy for writing letters to the police headquarters and the Dailekh district public prosecutor's office, asking them not to go ahead with the inquiry into the Maoist cadres arrested in connection with the murder of local journalist Dekendra Thapa. Nepalnews.com
