FNCCI condemns attack on Ncell head office
The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has condemned the attack on Ncell head office at Naya Baneshwor by members of the trade unions affiliated with Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist.
Issuing a statement, the apex body of the business community said it was worried that such activities would discourage foreign investment and create an atmosphere of insecurity. The federation also urged the political parties not to protect the culprits, demanding that those involved in the vandalism be punished.
Over 80 members of the CPN-M's All Nepal Communication, Printing and Publications Workers Union pelted stones at the Ncell head office, smashing several windowpanes. They had tried to barge into the building but were prevented by the police.
They were demanding reinstatement in the jobs they were holding at Hello Nepal, which was owned by Ajaya Sumargi before it was acquired by Ncell.
