UCPN (M)'s first post-convention CC meet begins

The first meeting of the central committee of the UCPN (Maoist) since its 7th general convention in Hetauda has started at the party"s headquarters in Peris Danda.

The meeting, which was supposed to take place immediately after the meet last month. However, it had been postponed indefinitely due to marathon talks among political forces to form the new government.

The committee is to nominate 52 new CC members, some office-bearers including the secretaries and treasurer and announce the new standing committee and politburo.

Party leaders said they will also use the meeting to work on their strategy for the soon-to-be declared polls. Nepalnews.com
