Regmi names three ministers as Constitutional Council members

Chairman of the Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi has assigned three ministers of his cabinet to work as members of the Constitutional Council.

Regmi has named Minister for Home and Foreign Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire, Minister for women, Children and Social Welfare Riddhi Baba Pradhan and Minister for information and Communications Madhav Paudel as members of the council, in accordance with a presidential decree that amended the constitution a week ago .

The four-member Council, which has Chairman Regmi as its head, is a powerful body that has the authority to name commissioners of key state bodies such as the Election Commission, Commission for Investigation of Authority and National Human Rights Commission.
