Indefinite bandh affects life in Surkhet
Normal life has been severely affected in the mid-western town of Surkhet due to an indefinite strike against police 'intervention'.
The locals have accused police of using unnecessary force to prevent them from installing a Buddha idol at Kakrebihar. Local reports said that a group of Surkhet residents have demanded that the government allow locals to install the idol at the same place and release people who were held during protests yesterday.
Local authorities said they barred locals from installing a statue at the religious site as they had not applied for a permit to do so. nepalnews.com
