Revenue and remittance alone cannot sustain economy: FNCCI
Remittance and revenue alone cannot sustain the country's economy and the government should build an environment for increased investments in the productive sectors, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has stated.
At a programme of discussion with the economy beat journalists it organised in the capital today, FNCCI officials expressed concern over the economic activities not taking the expected momentum in the present adverse political situation.
FNCCI Senior Vice President Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar demanded that the political parties make public common programme of economic development and increased production through their manifestos. He stressed that all the political parties should have convergence of views on the issue of economic development though they might have ideological differences.
Another Vice President Pashupati Murarka said that the industrialists and businessmen wanted to move ahead hand in hand with the government for the socio-economic development of the country.
He rued that the industry sector was on the verge of collapse due to the extortion and donation terror unleashed by various parties and organizations lately.
Similarly, Vice President Pradip Jung Pandey, while appreciating the role played by the media persons for the economic prosperity of the country, urged journalists to write more analytical and investigative news on the economy and business sector.
President of the Society of Economic Journalists, Nepal (SEJON) Bigyan Bibhu Adhikari urged the industry and business community to keep the national interest in mind while doing business.
