HLPC briefs Prez, IEC chair regarding progress in bringing poll-opposing parties into election fray
High Level Political Committee (HLPC) on Saturday met President Ram Baran Yadav and briefed him about the progress made in bringing poll-opposing political parties into election fray.
The top leaders of five political forces that make the HLPC also submitted the copy of the agreement done with Upendra Yadav-led Sanghiya Loktantric Morcha in which the latter has shown commitment to participate in the November 19 election.
During the meeting held at Shital Niwas, the top leaders also informed the President about the progress in talks with the alliance of 33 poll-opposing parties led by CPN-M and Ashok Rai-led Federal Socialist Front.
After meeting President Yadav, the top leaders of the HLPC went to meet Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi at Baluwatar and submitted the copies of consensus forged with the Upendra Yadav-led Front and discussed the possibility of its implementation by amending constitution.
During the meeting, the HLPC leaders said they were confident that the ongoing talks with Ashok Rai-led Federal Sociliast Front and Mohan Baidya-led 33-party alliance would bear fruit and that they would all take part in the upcoming election. Nepalnews.com
