Supreme Court allows authorities to force-feed Adhikari couple
The Supreme Court Tuesday delivered an order in the name of government authorities to force-feed Adhikari couple, if they do not end their hunger strike on their own at the ICU ward of Bir Hospital, Kathmandu.
A single bench of the apex court comprised of justice Prakash Osti delivered the order responding to a write petition filed by advocate Ramraj Shivakoti.
The petition urged the apex court to save the lives of Adhikari couple, who have been staging fast unto death for the past 43 days demanding justice to their deceased son Krishna Prasad.
Krishna Prasad was murdered during Maoist insurgency (1996-2006) in Chitwan. The Adhikari couple has been stressing that the government prosecute and punish the murderer of their son as a pre-condition for breaking their strike. Nepalnews.com
