Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel and leader of FSPN Ashok Rai exchanged the signed agreement on behalf of High Level Political Committee and Rai's party in Kathmandu today.
With the signing of the agreement, FSPN has cancelled all its protest programs and decided to participate in the upcoming CA election.
The agreement was prepared by Minendra Rijal of Nepali congess and Rajendra Shrestha of the FSPN.
FSPN had earlier launched a nation-wide agitation program against the election slated for November. The HLPC had been in talks with the party and a meeting on Thursday had ended positively, paving a way for a formal agreement today.
"A conducive environment has been created for us to take part in the polls. We will, therefore, contest the polls," FSPN spokesperson Gopan Thakur had said following successful talks with the HLPC on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Rai's party and HLPC had agreed to retain the strength of the second CA at 601 seats, same as the previous Constituent Assembly. nepalnews.com
