President Ram Baran Yadav, during a meeting with civil society members, said on Friday that he would call a meeting of the poll boycott groups, so that all parties can participate in the upcoming Constituent Assembly polls.
"We are making preparations to hold talks with the disgruntled parties soon. Elections must be held on November 19. But, there must be participation of every party in the election," Surendra KC, who led the delegation, quoted the president, as saying.
"The president has further urged the civil society members to extend help in this regard," KC added.
President Yadav said he is in regular contact with the poll-opposing parties and that he would soon reach a conclusion to this effect.
The CPN-Maoist, led by Mohan Baidya, has been heading the alliance of 33 smaller parties. The alliance has been putting forth two pre-conditions: postpone the elections and change the interim government.
The four major parties, however, have been maintaining that they are flexible to meet the demands of the alliance, but cannot fulfill these two difficult pre-conditions just to ensure their participation in the polls. Nepalnews.com
