CAN SofTech 2013 concludes
The sixth edition of Subisu CAN SofTech 2013, organised by the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN), concluded alluring over 130,000 visitors at Exhibition Hall, Bhrikuti Mandap in the capital on Saturday.
The four-day event featured about 120 stalls of 62 different national and international companies. The visitors to the software expo were much higher than previous years, the organiser, CAN, said. The organiser added that the event has concluded successfully, exceeding the expected number of visitors.
Meanwhile, CAN has also announced a four-month long training course at Rs. 25,000 to IT graduates in collaboration with Kings College.
The exhibition was inaugurated on Wednesday by Vice-president Parmananda Jha amidst a special function.
During the inaugural function, Minister for Science and Technology Uma Kanta Jha had said that the government has been preparing to introduce contextual policy for the development of ICT sector.
Praising the contribution of the private sector in the development of ICT sector, Jha had also stressed on the need of institutionalisation of the sector at the national level along with favourable policy.
CAN has been organising the event with an aim to bring together national and international ICT related companies under a same roof. nepalnews.com
