CAN announces high performance programme prior to World Cup Qualifiers
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced "High Performance Programme" prior to the upcoming T20 and ODI World Cup Qualifiers.
CAN is scheduled to tour India for friendly matches from October 20 to 30. Nepal will play 10 matches with the cricket teams in Delhi, according to a press statement issued to inform about the matches.
Similarly, the national team will also get the opportunity to participate in the tournaments organised by the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) during India tour.
CAN has recently signed an agreement with the DDCA for the friendly matches, said the CAN President Tanka Angbuhang in a press meet on Monday.
Angbuhang along with CAN’s former advisor Aamir Akthar and CAN member Sanjeev Pandey had arranged the tour during their visit to India last week.
Before India tour, CAN is also scheduled to bring fast bowler from Sri Lanka from September 15 to 24 and batting coach from Australia from October 4 to 10.
These preparation and practice matches are prior to the T20 World Cup Qualifiers that is going to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in November.
Similarly, the Nepali National team is also set to play practice matches with two countries among India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. These matches are arranged as part of the practice matches focusing ICC World Cup Qualifiers to be held in New Zealand next year, according to CAN.
Meanwhile, CAN has also announced the calendar of events of the association for the year 2013/14. nepalnews.com
