MJF (L), TMLP decide to forge electoral alliance
The Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik) led by Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar and Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP) chaired by Mahantha Thakur have decided to seek electoral alliance for the upcoming Constituent Assembly polls.
"We have, in principle, agreed to form an electoral alliance. But, many details are yet to be worked out," said Rameshor Rai Yadav, vice president of MJF (L) on Wednesday.
"We will soon reach a formal deal delineating clear picture of the would-be electoral alliance," he added.
Meanwhile, TMLP has decided to contest the election without any alliance in 16 seats, which the party either won previously, or has strong vote bases.
According to TMLP sources, TMLP chairperson Thakur will contest the polls from Sarlahi-6 without forming any coalition with other parties. Similarly, some of the constituencies where TMLP will contest the polls alone include Sarlahi-5, Morang-6, Morang-7 and Mahottari-3.
The MJF (L), however, has not made any detailed statement public as to where the party will contest the polls, either alone or under a coalition. Nepalnews.com
