CIAA files lawsuits against 22 NEA officials
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority on Friday filed lawsuits at the Special Court against 22 NEA officials for their involvement in the purchase of low quality transformers.
The CIAA has claimed that Rs 460 million was embezzled during those transactions.
Some of the NEA officials, against whom the corruption cases were filed, include: executive director Jibendra Jha, general manager Yugal Kishor Shah, managers Kailash Prasad Atal and Hari Bahadur Gasi and director Arjun Kumar Chauhan, among others.
The CIAA has demanded imprisonment to all 22 officials as per clause 3(1) of Anti-Corruption Act and fine amounting to Rs 170 million in total.
The CIAA has demanded more punishment for executive director Jha and general manager Shah for their policy level guidance in the scam.
