Print journalists dominate SEJON election; Adhikari new chief
Bigyan Adhikari has been elected chairman of the Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON) on Saturday.
Adhikari, who works with Nagarik Daily, received 117 out of 220 votes, while his opponent Pradip Chapagain was able to garner 96 votes during the 14th General Assembly of the Society.
Lok Bahadur Chapagain has been elected as vice-chairman and Pushpa Raj Acharya the general secretary. Chapagain and Pushparaj are both affiliated to Karobar Daily. Roshan Adhikari and Diwakar Panta of Kantipur Daily have been elected secretary and treasurer respectively.
Likewise, journalists affiliated to Karobar daily Bhuwan Paudel and Yadav Humagain, Pratikshya Khanal of Kantipur FM, Ashish Gyanwali of Annapurna Post, Ram Raja Shrestha of Arthik Abhiyan have been elected the members of the executive committee.
