Two CPN-M cadres arrested for setting passengers bus on fire in Dhulikhel
Police on Monday arrested two CPN-Maoist cadres who allegedly torched a passenger bus in Dhulikhel of Kavre during the bandh announced by their party in the district on September 15.
The passenger bus, with registration number Ba 2 Kha 5672, was en-route from Kathmandu to Melamchi when it was torched by the CPN-M cadres for defying the bandh called by the party.
Those arrested on charges of setting the bus on fire on Monday are Raman Pariyar, vice chairman of National Youth Volunteer aligned with CPN-M and Arjun Thapa, chairman of Ugratara Janagal Village Committee from Dhulikhel.
Although there are reports that the bus was lit before the passengers had any chance to get off the bus, Dhulikhel’s CDO Durga Bhandari told Nepalnews that all the passengers had gotten off the bus before it was torched. No was hurt in the incident, however.
Some cadres of the CPN-Maoist including central member, Chudamani Gautam have already been arrested after the incident. Nepalnews.com
