Adhikari murder accused remanded to 10 more days in custody
The Chitwan District Court on Monday remanded Ram Prasad Adhikari, the man accused with insurgency-era murder of Krishna Prasad Adhikari , to 10 more days in judicial custody.
District Judge Binod Mohan Acharya turned down the appeal for his release made by the defendant’s side and extended the judicial custody as Chitwan District Police pleaded that they need more time to investigate the murder case.
Ram Prasad was arrested from Bagbazar, Kathmandu on September 5 and was taken to Chitwan, where the murder actually took place in 2004. The murder-accused, Ram Prasad, was then an underground Maoist cadre.
The police are further looking for 10 other accused in connection with the incident. They are mostly from Phujel VDC of Gorkha district, where the deceased (Krishna Prasad) hailed from.
Krishna Prasad, 18, was abducted and subsequently murdered by Ram Prasad and other Maoists insurgents over a property dispute. Nepalnews.com
