Jumla sees increase in women land ownership
Women's ownership over land is increasing in the mountain district of Jumla, as per the recent statistics made public by the District's Land Revenue Office.
Altogether 523 women have land and property registered in their names in the district. Among them, 307 are from the rural area and 216 from the townships. This comprises 24 per cent of the total land-ownership in the district.
The women's ownership on land has increased after the government started providing concession to women on the revenues while registering land and other land-related transactions.
