Three Star to leave for AFC President’s Cup today
Three Star Club (TSC) players were given a farewell as they were leaving for Malaysia to participate in AFC President’s Cup 2013 amid a function in Lalitpur on Thursday.
The 32-member team comprising 20 players and 12 officials are leaving for Malaysia to participate in the tournament on Friday. The tournament is scheduled to kick off from September 23 to 29 in the south-east Asian nation.
Speaking at the farewell programme, TSC president Lalit Krishna Shrestha expressed confidence that the club will display its best performance and achieve good results.
“The tournament is also a good opportunity for players to show their skills and talent in the international arena,” he said.
On the occasion, Nepal National team as well as TSC's defender Sandeep Rai said that the players are ready to give their best performance and prove that the team is worthy of playing in such international tournament.
Three Star will take on Balkan Football Club of Turkmenistan on September 23 and Erchim of Mongolia on September 25 in Group A.
Similarly, KRL Football Club of Pakistani, Hilal Al-Quds of Palestine and Dordoi Football Club of Kyrgyzstan are in Group B. nepalnews.com
