IEC chair Regmi leaving for New York on Thursday
Chairperson of Interim Election Council (IEC) Khil Raj Regmi is scheduled to leave for New York on Thursday to attend the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The IEC chair will be leading the Nepali delegation to UN assembly.
He is scheduled to address the UNGA on September 28 and attend other high-level meetings during his brief sojourn in New York before returning home on September 30, according to the itinerary.
Regmi will be accompanied by his spouse and close aides. Members of the Nepali delegation include Foreign Secretary Arjun Bahadur Thapa, Chief of UN Division at the Ministry, Deepak Dhital and Joint-Secretary at the Division, Bishnu Gautam, according to the Foreign Ministry.
