CIAA arrests chief of NOC employees' organization
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Friday arrested Debi Prasad Neupane, the chief of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Employees' Organization in connection to the bonus distribution case.
Neupane did not cooperate in the bonus distribution case, that's why he had to be detained, according to CIAA.
The CIAA has already taken four NOC officials into custody for distributing bonus to NOC employees at a time when the state-owned monopoly organization has been shown in papers to have incurred losses in millions of rupees.
The earlier arrested officials include NOC executive director Suresh Agrawal, accounts director Nagendra Sah and managers Kamal Prasad Sharma and Netra Kafle.
The NOC distributed bonus worth Rs 19.88 crores at a time when it has losses worth Rs 168.78 crores, according to a latest data. Nepalnews.com
