Keep high investment projects on track: Finance Minister
Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala has directed secretaries with different ministries to execute work on time regarding programmes and projects with investment of over Rs. 150 million listed in the government's current fiscal year's budget and policies and programmes.
Addressing a progress review meeting about the programmes implemented at the Finance Ministry today, Minister Koirala stressed that executions of the development projects and projects of national priority should not be delayed.
He urged secretaries to inform his Ministry on time if they face any obstructions and budget constraints in course of the implementation of the projects. Allocation of advertisements of public interests to newspapers has increased by 25 per cent and it will be implemented, he added.
National Planning Commission (NPC) Vice Chairman Dr Rabindra Kumar Shakya urged government representatives to complete the projects listed in the budget and government policies and programmes on time.
The Commission would play a role of facilitator to that end, he added. Finance Secretary Shantaraj Subedi informed that Chure Conservation Programme, local development programmes, establishment of security printing press, cooperative management and industrial physical infrastructures development are the projects of national pride.
