FOR THE SUPPLY OF 1000 M.TONS
WHITE NEWSPRINT PAPER IN REELS

1. Sealed tenders are invited by the Gorkhapatra Corporation, Dharmapath, Ktm., Nepal for the supply of 1000 Metric Tons of white News Print Paper in reels.
Specification of the Newsprint paper:
a) Grammage 45 ± 1.5 GSM
b) Reel Breadth 28" (710 mm)
c) Non Pinhole, Maximum reel diameter-1070 mm
d) Core dia-3" with strong wooden or Plastic Core Plug.
e) Smoothness, Maximum 300 ml./minute
f) Brightness, Minimum 59%
g) Opacity Minimum 85%
h) Porosity Maximum 800 ml./minute.
i) Breaking Length Minimum 3000 M (as per the Machine Direction)
j) Tear factor Minimum 45 at cross direction
k) Moisture content 8 to 10%
l) Oil absorbancy Maximum 60 per second.
2. The tender document can be obtained on written request against Rs .5,000.00 (Five Thousand) in cash deposited receipt (Non-Refundable) from Procurement Section of this Corporation from 10 AM. to 4 P.M.
3. The sealed tender should reach the Corporation's office on 22nd February 2009 before 12:00 hrs .
4. The sealed tender must be addressed to "The Executive Chairman, Gorkhapatra Corporation, Dharmapath, Kathmandu, Nepal" with the bidder's Name & Address. The sealed tender must be superscribed "Sealed Tender for the Supply of 1000 Metric Tons Newsprint Paper" on the envelope. At least 25 sheets of Newsprint in 22"x28" size as per the above specification must be submitted along with the tender for sample.
5. The sealed tender must be carried a bid bond at the rate of 2.5% of the bid i.e. CIF Kolkotta, (India), plus the cost of insurance coverage upto Kathmandu, Nepal. The bid bond can be deposited in the Gorkhapatra corporation’s A/C No 002-11-49803 at the Nepal Bank Ltd., New Road, Kathmandu, and the tender should carry the receipt. If the bank guarantee is of a foreign bank then it should require to endorsement from any commercial bank of Nepal.
6. The sealed tender or any part thereof received after the stipulated time and date will not be entertained.
7. Within 7 days from the date of receipt of the acceptance, the successful bidder shall furnish a performance Bond equivalent to five per cent of the total value, but in the case of foreign national it will be 15 days from the date of receipt or the acceptance.
8. The sealed Tender will not be entertained if all the required conditions are not fulfilled.
9. The sealed Tender will be opened on the same day i.e.22nd Feb,2009 at 2.30 PM at the premises of the Gorkhapatra Corporation in the presence of the bidders or their authorised representatives. However, the absence of participants on the day will not affect the opening programme. In case the opening day happens to be a public holiday the next immediate working day will be considered.
10. The Corporation reserves all the right to reject any or all tenders or accept wholly or partly without assigning any reason whatsoever.
11. Other Terms and Conditions will be as per the rules & regulations of the Govt. of Nepal.
