A Home Ministry official has informed that Indian Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon, who visited Kathmandu June 20-21, did not discuss the extradition treaty during his meeting with Home Minister Bhim Rawal. Home Ministry is one of the concerned sides regarding the treaty. However, according to Madan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Menon, who said the two countries were close to finalisig the new treaty, had discussed the issue with MoFA officials.
