Resolutions – 2064
Baisakh 1, 2064: In an unprecedented televised address to the nation last night, on behalf of the eight parties, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala announced a list of New Year Resolutions, telling the Nepali people, "I am a big believer in abiding by resolutions, as long as they come from the United States of America or India ."
Here is the list of the PM's resolutions:
"I resolve:
to pay close attention to the recommendations of the different study groups including the Mallik Commission and the Rayamajhi Commission, as soon as they come up with a video version.
to make sure that in 2064, Gyanendra spends more time with his family at Narayanhiti palace.
to remind the people that this Constituent Assembly Election's joke is really hilarious and we should continue it.
to learn how to use the Internet and search for successful models of state reconstruction.
to invite Afganistan President Hamid Karzai to a peacemaking lunch in New Delhi .
to ensure that my successor will be my daughter.
to improve relations with all African countries by the year-end.
to announce my exit from politics before it is too late."
Not just the PM but everybody should have their own New Year Resolutions. But, since the ordinary people don't have this privilege as many things are unpredictable and beyond their control at this moment, they have their New Year Wish List only. They are:

a stable government, but without any horse trading and without any under-the- table dealings

peace and a piece of fish

better business and better butter
-
more tourists with big and deep pockets

fewer bandhs
-
sober motorcyclists
-
smiling salespersons and shopkeepers

lots of LPG supply
-
better petroleum distribution
