R K Ummat has joined Everest Bank Ltd. (EBL) as the Chief Executive Officer replacing Jaspal Singh Jass. Ummat has 36 years of banking experience and before joining EBL he was the Deputy General Manager in Punjab National Bank India, one of the major investors in EBL. Jass has been transferred to PNB, Delhi, India.
N K Chari has joined Nepal SBI Bank Ltd as Managing Director replacing V P Dani who has been transferred to SBI, Mumbai as Vice President - Capital Investment. Earlier, Chari was Head of Treasury at State Bank of India, Delhi.
Rajendra Shrestha has joined Development Credit Bank Ltd. as Chief Manager, a position reporting to the Vice President. Earlier, Shrestha was Deputy General Manager of NB Bank Ltd.
Janak Sharma Poudyal has joined Global Bank Ltd. as Assistant General Manager. Earlier he was with Laxmi Bank Ltd. at the same post till 2002. Then he had gone to London for further study and also worked for Abbey National, a Spanish banking group for few months.
C R Pant, Branch Manager (Senior Manager) of Nepal SBI Bank's New Road Branch, has been transferred to the Head Office as Head of Marketing Department. Similarly, Binod Dhungel, Deputy Manager - Credit of SBI Head Office has been transferred to look after as Branch Manager of SBI, New Road.
Prabin P Chhetri has joined Bank of Kathmandu as Chief Information Officer. Earlier, he was Senior Manager -IT at Nabil Bank Ltd.
Jhanak Bahadur Rawal has joined Clean Energy Financial Institution Ltd. as Manager- Account, Treasury and Administration. Earlier, he was Manager - Project Expansion at Sanima Development Bank Ltd.
Insurance
Ramesh K Bhattarai has joined Asian Life Insurance Company (ALIC) as Managing Director. Earlier, he was MD at Nepal Life Insurance Company Ltd. (NLIC). Similarly, Kamal Raj Gautam has become the General Manager of ALIC. Earlier, he also was with NLIC as DGM.
Meanwhile, Hom Bahadur Shrestha has joined ALIC as Senior Manager and Raju KC and Deepak Raj Lekhak as Branch Managers for different branches (to be decided soon). Earlier, Shrestha was Branch Manager of Kathmandu branch of NLIC, while KC and Lekhak were Branch Managers of Banepa and Mahendranager respectively of NLIC.
Raghu Pant has joined Gurans Life Insurance Co. Ltd. as CEO. Earlier, he was General Manager of Prudential Insurance Co. Ltd.
B K Maharjan has joined Prudential Insurance Co. Ltd. as General Manager. Earlier, he was Acting General Manager of United Insurance Company Ltd.
Manoj Bhattarai has rejoined Nepal Life Insurance Company Ltd. (NLIC) as Deputy General Manager, working as CEO and Shiva Bahadur Basnet has joined NLIC as Deputy General Manager (Underwriting). Earlier, Bhattarai was Finance and Administration Manager with Enabling State Program of Department for International Development (DFID) after he left the NLIC about two years ago and Basnet was with Rastriya Beema Sansthan.
Laxman Risal , Chief Operating Officer of NIC Bank Ltd. has resigned from the bank to join Prime Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (PLIC) as the Chief Executive Officer from next month. Similarly, Keshab Raj KC and Kamal B Pandey have also joined PLIC as General Manager-Technical and Chief Marketing Manager respectively. Earlier, KC and Pandey both were with Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd as Senior Manager and Acting Marketing Manager respectively.
Sewa Pathak has joined Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd. as Finance Chief. A chartered accountant Pathak was earlier with T R Upadhyay & Co.

Saumindra Bhattacharya has joined Bottlers Nepal as Country Manager. Earlier, he was Country Manager of Coca Cola system in Bangladesh.
Niranjan Singh Basnet has joined Group 4 Falck Nepal as Finance Chief. Earlier, he was at the same post with Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd.
Rabindra Karna has joined Dabur Nepal as H R Head - Factory. Earlier, he was with Bottlers Nepal as SAP Project Leader - SABCO.
Mirsh Adhikari has rejoined ANS Creation, an ad agency, as Corporate Manager. Earlier, he was Brand Manager of Varun Beverage Pvt. Ltd.
Bijaya Ram Kashajoo of Morang Auto Works has been promoted to Manager-Marketing from Assistant Manager-Marketing.
