Kim Jong Un Clarifies WPK2 s Firm Will to Build Reunified Thriving Nation, Tightly Holding Arms of Songun

Pyongyang (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Marshal Kim Jong Un made a speech at the banquet given in celebration of August 25, the anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership. He said August 25 marks the 52nd anniversary of great Generalissimo Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership, adding that Kim Jong Il, totally dedicating himself with his patriotic will, holding high the banner of Songun all his life, built up an invincible military power and provided the might of the great unity between the army and people to be envied by the whole world and thus placed the dignity of the country and its people on the highest level in the history of the nation. These exploits will remain shining forever, he stressed.

He, reflecting the unanimous desire of all the service personnel of the KPA and people, paid highest tribute and extended eternal glory to Kim Jong Il, who dedicated himself to Songun journeys for patriotic devotion to the country and its people, burning his heart with warmth and love for them all his life. "I am pleased to be amongst you comrades-in-arms in the eastern sector of the front on this significant day at a time when the enemies are busy with provocative drills for a war of aggression under our nose," he said, and continued:

"August 25, along with April 25, is a historic day to go down in the history of the building of our revolutionary armed forces and the history of our country. The might of the KPA proud of being a powerful revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu with tremendous capability and the dignity of our country, a world-class military power and a full-fledged nuclear weapons state, would be unthinkable without this day. It is the firm determination and will of the Workers' Party of Korea to defend the security of the country and the gains of revolution and build a reunified thriving nation on this land, tightly holding the arms of Songun provided by Generalissimo Kim Jong Il with so much effort, making journeys for the Songun revolutionary leadership all his life.

The U.S. and the south Korean puppet army are staging large-scale war drills for aggression targeted against us even with forces of their allies involved, posing a grave threat to our security.

During my inspection of units on the forefront in the southwestern sector of the front I already issued an order to the KPA to keep itself highly alerted against the reckless moves of the enemies and follow them with high vigilance. If the enemies fire even a single shell on our inviolable territory and territorial waters, the KPA should deal prompt deadly blows at them and the whole army should turn out as one and lead the battle to an all-out counter-offensive for accomplishing the great cause of national reunification. I issued this order to the whole army and examined the operational plan for implementing it and finally signed it.

The courageous officers and men of the KPA, upon receiving this order, occupied their battle positions to cope with the reckless moves of the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces and are now waiting for a final order for charge for a life-and death-battle against the enemies.

There is a limit to our patience. 'Counter a provocation with a prompt counterattack and a war of aggression with a great, just war for national reunification!' This is our principled stand and steadfast will. We will not remain an onlooker to the enemies' frantic moves for aggression but make every possible effort to protect the destiny of the country and the nation. It is the truth proved by history that no force on earth can overpower the people who are all out for the cause of justice. If another war breaks out on this land due to the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces' intolerable actions, though we do not want it, the war will only bring a shameless doom to them and our great nation will greet a new bright day of national reunification.

Only victory and glory will be in store for us advancing under the uplifted immortal banners bearing portraits of the great Comrade Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il with broad smile on their face.

Availing myself of this meaningful opportunity, I would like to renew once again the firm resolution to steadfastly and invariably keep to the path of Songun traversed by Comrade Kim Jong Il, arms in arms and shoulder to shoulder with you, for our country and revolution." A rosy future is in store for the Korean people, he said, calling for holding more tightly the arms of revolution to protect their happiness and safety and the dignity of the power of Mt. Paektu. Kim Jong Un proposed a toast to the final victory of the revolutionary causes of Juche and Songun pioneered by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and led by them successfully, to the health of the commanders and commanding officers of combined units present and all servicepersons and to the victorious advance of the powerful revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu.

U.S. Forces Presence in S. Korea Is Vivid Expression of Hostile Policy toward DPRK

Pyongyang (KCNA) -- The DPRK Foreign Ministry spokesman released the following statement Friday with the lapse of 67 years since the U.S. forces' occupation of south Korea:

The U.S. occupation of south Korea in the first days of Cold War between the East and the West was aimed to secure a bridgehead for realizing its strategy for the military domination of the Eurasian continent.

This quenched the nation's desire for complete sovereignty of the country and its independent development and led to the territorial and national division.

From the first day of its presence in south Korea, the U.S. trained pro-U.S. forces and prodded them to escalate confrontation with the fellow countrymen in its ceaseless moves to launch invasion and ignite a new war to seize whole Korean Peninsula. For more than half a century the DPRK has fallen a victim to the U.S. forces in south Korea which regarded the DPRK as the No. 1 target of attack. This compelled the DPRK to build its own nuclear deterrent even by tightening its belt to cope with the nuclear threats from the world's biggest nuclear weapons state.

The U.S. forces' presence in south Korea turned the Korean Peninsula into the world's biggest hotspot and it has become a malignant tumor that seriously threatens peace and stability in Northeast Asia and, furthermore, the rest of the world. Pursuant to the new defense strategy of amassing armed forces in the Asia-Pacific region, the U.S. seeks its forces' permanent presence in south Korea while saying that their mission is to "maintain regional peace", not just to "defend" south Korea.

The U.S. forces in south Korea are becoming forward-deployed forces and "strategic mobile forces" whose nature and role are to contain China and Russia and hold military hegemony in the region. Here the south Korean puppet forces are playing the role of colonial stooges tasked with the duty of executing the U.S. war policy for aggression. The U.S. is increasing the frequency and scale of military exercises of various codenames to boost the U.S. mobility and attack capabilities under the pretext of coping with "provocations" and "nuclear threats" from the DPRK, thereby pushing the situation to the brink of a war.

The U.S. persistent denial of the conclusion of a peace treaty with the DPRK is aimed to keep the DPRK as its enemy, a pretext for its forces' permanent presence in south Korea. The U.S. forces' presence in south Korea is the most vivid expression of the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK. As long as its forces remain in south Korea, the U.S. is not entitled to claim that it has no hostile intent toward the DPRK and no one will believe it, either. The U.S. continued hostile policy toward the DPRK will only force the DPRK to bolster its nuclear deterrent, making the prospect for solving the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula gloomier.

The withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea is a common task of parties concerned desirous of lasting peace and prosperity of the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Northeast Asia.

If the U.S. seeks to keep its forces in south Korea, contrary to the unanimous desire of the regional people, it had better get itself ready to taste an all-out war with the DPRK.

DPRK' s Stand on DPRK-Japan Inter-Governmental Talks

Pyongyang (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK gave the following answer to the question raised by KCNA Wednesday as regards the preliminary talks between the governments of the DPRK and Japan: There took place section chief-level preliminary talks between the governments of the DPRK and Japan in Beijing, China from August 29 to 31.

At the bilateral Red-Cross talks that were held before the preliminary talks, both sides reached the consensus of view that government involvement is necessary for a satisfactory solution to the issue of remains of Japanese buried in the Korean soil. The preliminary talks are the results of suggestions made by the participants in the Red-Cross talks to their governments. At the preliminary talks, both sides informed the other side of their stands on the inter-governmental talks that will be held regarding the issue of the remains of Japanese. They also discussed the issues concerning the agenda items, level, place and time for the talks and agreed to provide coordination through diplomatic channel in the future.

In this regard, the Japanese government and political and media fields are saying that the DPRK accepted the inclusion of "abduction issue" in the main agenda items of the talks and the DPRK is expecting sort of economic rewards through the issue of remains of Japanese. But this is a sheer lie.The misrepresentation of facts which is a mockery of the good faith shown by the DPRK increases the suspicion as to the Japanese side's abuse of the issue of remains for meeting its sordid political purpose. The DPRK has approached the issue of the remains of Japanese in good faith and with magnanimity from the humanitarian stand and will keep doing so.

But if Japan keeps seeking an ulterior political purpose, it will adversely affect the DPRK-Japan inter-governmental talks.

DPRK Foreign Ministry Denounces U.S. and IAEA

Pyongyang (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK gave the following answer to the question raised by KCNA Wednesday as regards the U.S. and the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) unreasonable pulling up of the DPRK over its construction of light water reactor (LWR):

The director general of the IAEA in a recent report submitted to a meeting of the IAEA board of governors said the DPRK's LWR construction and the uranium enrichment activities arouse serious concerns.Echoing this, the spokesman for the U.S. State Department urged the DPRK to stop nuclear activities including the LWR construction and accept the IAEA inspection.

IAEA aggravated the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula pursuant to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK. This deprived the IAEA of the qualifications to intervene in the DPRK's nuclear activities. But it has not yet come to its senses. IAEA has not voiced concerns over the nuclear programs of other nuclear states. It only expressed concerns over the DPRK's nuclear program, an indication of its partial approach toward the DPRK.
IAEA and the U.S. should not try to view the prevailing situation with the old standard in the period when the DPRK's nuclear activities were confined to the peaceful purposes only.

The DPRK, which legitimately accessed nukes to cope with the U.S. persistent hostile policy, has its own standard on which IAEA's function is not workable as the function mainly deals with non nuclear states.

IAEA and the U.S. should act with discretion, clearly facing up to the situation.

Field Guidance to Taedonggang Tile Factory

Marshal Kim Jong Un, First Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, First Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army, gave field guidance to the Taedonggang Tile Factory built on an expansion basis. He was accompanied by senior officials of the Party, the army and the state.

Going round different places of the factory all the lines of which have been modernized and cultured ways in production ensured on a high level, he learned in detail about its construction, operation of its equipment and production. He dropped in at a building which houses a microlite workshop, an artificial marble tile workshop and others.

He highly praised the officials and employees of the factory for having successfully carried out the second-phase capacity-expansion project and thus made a great contribution to putting the building materials industry on a Juche-oriented, modern and scientific basis.. He also went round other workshops producing tiles for outer and interior walls and floor and marble tiles, and a tile exhibition hall in the compound of the factory.

Saying that the factory is a leading comprehensive building materials production base of the country, he underscored the need to channel efforts to boosting production of tiles, increasing their varieties and improving their quality.

Overview of fluctuating situation in Afghanistan

By Asif Haroon Raja

Haqqani Network (HN) under Sirajuddin Haqqani based in North Waziristan (NW) was declared the most dangerous outfit when it hit military targets in Kabul several times with impunity on September 13, 2011. Murder of Burhanuddin Rabbani on September 20, 2011 blocked the peace effort. These attacks blew up the story spun by ISAF media team that lot of progress had been made on the military front. Till attacks in Kabul , secret efforts with the help of ISI were underway to win over Haqqanis. After the attacks, they fell from grace and were named as HN. Thereon, HN became the chief target of USA and is on its hit list. All attacks in and around Kabul in 2012 including the one on 22 June were also pasted on HN. Pakistan is under intense US pressure since early 2010 and has been consistently asked to launch a major operation in NW to eliminate safe havens of HN.
Pakistan which has been submissively obeying the dictates of Washington since September 2001 resisted this demand because of its socio-politico-economic-military compulsions and discriminatory attitude of the US officials. Pak military knows that America ’s demand is not genuine but based on ill-intentions to further undermine its security situation. The US has not been able to explain as to why it is pushing Pakistan to take on HN and on-Taliban groups headed by Hafiz Gul Bahadur and Maulvi Nazir when its political wing has been desperately trying to negotiate a peace deal with Afghan Taliban. It has not declared HN as an international terror group since it wants to keep a window open to bring it on its side and thus divide Taliban movement. It will keep trying to draw a wedge between and Haqqanis and Mulla Omar. If Haqqanis were non-Afghans and attacking targets in Afghanistan , or they were attacking homeland of USA , or were involved in 9/11, they could be held accountable. Realities are quite the opposite. Haqqanis are pure blooded Afghans representing 42% of Pakhtun population.

They had played a lead role in freeing Afghanistan from Soviet occupation and had remained in very good books of USA . They are now fighting a freedom war to liberate their country from foreign occupation, which has become the longest. One of the reasons why HN has become a monstrosity for USA is that it is advantageously placed in eastern Afghanistan to takeover Kabul once the ISAF departs. It has shown its skill and prowess in entering and striking sensitive targets in Kabul repeatedly. Haqqanis or any other Afghan national had no connection with9/11 attacks. In fact, majority of Afghans don’t even know if 9/11 occurred. Even then, the whole wrath of the US and its allies fell upon the Afghan Pakhtuns and later on the Pakhtuns in FATA. 42 million Pakhtuns in Af-Pakregion have suffered the most in the war on terror and are still suffering because of drones. Haqqanis have their roots in NW while 17 million Afghan Pakhtuns are ethnically and historically linked with 25 million Pakhtuns in Pakistan . Their antagonism against USA and their collaborators in Afghanistan should therefore be seen in that context. Under the circumstances, it is the moral right of every patriotic Afghan to resist the occupiers and push them out. They have the right to use force since massive force has been and is being employed against them. While the US led ISAF has no moral or legal justification to stay in Afghanistan and kill the locals, it is the right of the Afghans to attack occupiers who profess that use of force is the only solution to restore peace in Afghanistan . It is not so easy for few thousand ill-equipped Afghans to strike back the intruders who possess most advanced weapons systems and technology andhave taken extra ordinary measures to keep themselves safe and secure.

IEDs or suicide jackets employed by Taliban are a poor man’s weapon as against drones, jet fighters, gunship helicopters.  The occupying force is chasing the militants like hungry wolves round the clock and is using all sorts of methods to kill them. If both sides are fighting and killing each other, under what rules one side is called terrorists and why should the occupiers complain that they are attacked? As long as foreign troops remain in illegal occupation of Afghanistan and use aggressive means to subdue the locals, resistance will continue. As far as Karzai regime and Afghan national security forces propped up by USA are concerned, each one of them extending support to the aggressors is a collaborator and falls in the category of a traitor. Whereas the Taliban had wrested power in 1996 without outside assistance, Northern Alliance forces ousted the Taliban with the help of outsiders and are still in power because of presence of foreign troops. Armies of 48 countries barged into Afghanistan on flimsy grounds and even after achieving their so-called objective of killing Osama bin Laden and killing/arresting majority of al-Qaida leaders, they are still there and want to stay on till at least 2024. The US military still not getting reconciled that the initiative has been wrested by the Taliban and victory is now a pipedream is the architect of the idea of stay behind force and retention of five military bases. Having destroyed the country and killed tens of thousands of Afghans in the 11-year war, the Americans now want the Taliban to end the war on their terms. There is no earthly reason for the US to impose western model democracy upon deeply conservative and tribal society simply because a small minority of secular Afghans has accepted it. Why should the American military foolishly expect the winning Taliban to lay down their arms when they know their history?       Doha initiative for all practical purposes has fizzled out because of the US inability to stand to its commitment of releasing five Taliban leaders languishing in Gitmo since 2002. The US wanted the Taliban to first announce their agreement to hold negotiations with Afghan regime and also to denounce violence before the release of wanted prisoners. Apart from Republicans opposition and Karzai’s unhappiness over secret parleys between the US and Taliban, the US Congress was another obstacle which wasn’t in favor of release of prisoners. Incident of burning of copies of holy Quran, night raids by US kill teams coupled with inking of strategic US-Afghan agreement and heart burning among younger Taliban over parleys with USA were other reasons for the Taliban leadership changing its mind to open a political office in Doha .

Offer of safe passage for Taliban leaders willing to join the reconciliation effort and de-listing them from the UN terrorists list has been rejected by the Taliban saying it is yet another ploy to divide Taliban. Karzai too is resentful of collateral damage caused to non-combative Afghans and asked NATO to stay away from villages. He has made another attempt to woo Mullah Omar by offering him apolitical office and political party to contest December 2014 presidential election and 2015 parliamentary elections. His and his regime’s future is bleak because of massive corruption in government departments and poor governance of rulers. Although the ANA has started taking over provinces from ISAF and is expected to complete the process by mid 2013, however, seeing the impunity with which the Taliban are striking targets all over the country including northern provinces, Karzai is unsure whether ANA will be able to tackle Taliban independently. To keep ANSF operationally fit and to continue with development works, he had asked for $10 billion a year at the Bonn Conference but in the Chicago conference only $4.1 billion was promised. Although Donors Conference in Tokyo pledged $16 billion for economic development, the donors are reluctant to release the amount because of corrupt practices and unpopularity of Kabul regime as well as the overall negative fallout of 2008 global recession. Kabul and Washington should thank their stars that Pakistan reopened NATO supply lines otherwise the US endgame plan would have crumbled.

As a part of MASHAV activities in Nepal and a part of cooperation between the governments of Israel and Nepal, a course on livestock was held for Entrepreneur Managers of the Agriculture Development Bank Limited (ADBL) and ADBL Livestock Entrepreneurs. 25 participants benefited from this course that was held from 29 August to 6 September 2012.  The objective of livestock training was to provide managerial and technical exposure with specific training in livestock farming, dairy cattle farming in plain lands, cattle breed selection techniques, technical aspects, managerial aspects and financial aspects among others. Experts from 'The Center for International Agricultural Development Cooperation', CINADCO, Israel, provided training and shared their expertise among the trainees.

Livestock has a huge potential to grow in the Nepali market as majority of the Nepalese people are still earning their living by farming and they keep animals for milk and milk products. This training provides the farmers with right techniques for cattle breading and intensive dairy farming systems for cattle appropriate for Nepal.

Dairy industry is one of the leading sectors in Israeli agriculture. It supplies most of the domestic demand for milk and dairy products. The national dairy herd comprise of the Israeli-Holstein breed, which has been developed by the Israeli Genetic Improvement System. Almost all cows are bred by Artificial Insemination and each has a GPS Computer System attached to its neck or legs to gather exact data about the animal in order to give a cow the right condition to bring to maximum productivity. Israel's dairy farms are environment friendly and constitute a model for comprehensive solution to one of the most difficult problems associated with cattle raising in Israel.
