Indias Balsara
Group has relaunched its various brands of household and personal hygiene products
in the Nepali market through its newly appointed dealer Modern Windmill International
Pvt. Ltd.
Promise and Babool brands of toothpaste from Balsara are claimed to hold 15% share in Indias $156 million toothpaste market. The Group is also engaged in private label manufacturing. It supplies formulations to MNCs such as Colgate-Palmolive, Beecham Group, Henkel Cosmetics and Reckitt & Coleman.
Other Balsara products include Miswak, Karma and Auromere brands of toothpaste, Promise toothbrush and tooth powder, Odomos brand of insect repellents as well as Odonil, Sani Fresh, Odopic brand of household cleaning and hygienic products.
Modern Windmill International has been the distributor of Brighter brand of made-in-Nepal toothpaste.
SBL Pvt. Ltd., a
16-year old Indian company, has launched its homeopathic medicines in Nepal.
The products made available now in Nepal by SBL include Liver Tonic, Stodal syrup (cough syrup), Alfalfa (with Ginseng) tonic for vigour and vitality, Tonicard (Gold Drops) for cardio ailment, Eye Drops, Dibonil for early stages of diabetes, Pelvorin for leucorrhoea, Dysmin for painful menstruation, Tonsilat for tonsillitis, sore throat and pharyngitis, and FP-200 for all types of piles and related problems.
The company has three "ultra-modern" manufacturing facilities in India which conform to WHO GMP standards, it is claimed.
The Delhi-based company was formerly known as Sharda Boiron Laboratories Ltd. and has as its current chairman BK Shrestha, a Nepal investor who also is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Everest Bank Ltd.
Eshita Trading (P)
Ltd. has very recently introduced into the Nepali market Hair brand of
deep freezer and television sets.
The Chinese brand boasts of 14 different deep freezer models of which eight are available only within the valley capital, relates Eshita Trading. Available from capacity range of 17 l to 468 l, the products are priced between Rs. 17,000 and Rs. 50,000, according to the trading firms director Sanjay Agrawal.
Hairs color television are available in 8 different models between sizes 14' and 29'. Agrawal claims that the Chinese television sets are cheaper than other brands available in the Nepali market.

Yet another whiskey-flavoured liquor has been introduced into the Nepali market. Being advertised with the slogan "Tribute to Whiskey palate" the new brand Virgin is a 40 UP liquor.
According to Highland Distillery, the producer of the brand, Virgin is available in three sizes quart, pint and nip. The consumer prices stand at Rs. 183, Rs. 86 and Rs. 46, respectively, informs the distillery.
With quality as
its cornerstone and customer satisfaction its motto, Tamor Mineral Water Industries
has introduced a new mineral water brand into the market .
According to the company , the Tamor brand of mineral water is free of colour and all types of organic and inorganic chemicals as per WHO guidelines. The company also claims that it has the capacity to supply 10 thousand bottles of mineral water every day.
Tamor mineral water is available in 1L bottle and 20 L pet jar, relates its manufacturer. It also informs that a case of mineral water (12 one-liter bottles) is priced at Rs. 110 while 15 and 20 L pet jars cost Rs. 55 and Rs. 70 respectively.
