Patan Museum A small island
of excellence
Patan Museum is perhaps the
embodiment of the way we
would have liked to see
Nepali culture, architecture and lifestyles evolve. One just cannot help but wish all our institutions accorded a similar sense of involvement to sustain the richness of Nepali heritage. Just as you enter Patan Durbar Square, an unassuming entrance on the opposite side of Krishna Temple lets you inside this small island of excellence.
Kathmandu is an exotic business destination and it is likely that many overseas business travellers will find their spouses tagging along for the trip of their lifetimes. Many business hosts find it difficult to avoid suggesting Swayambhu, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu Durbar Square as the sightseeing circuit and suddenly Patan Museum comes across like very bright spot in the day’s itinerary.
If one wants to quickly find out the significance of the mythical bird Garud in the religious cultural history of Nepal, or the ways to identify a Vishnu figurine or find about the bronze casting heritage of the Newar community, then Patan Museum provides a refined way of enlightening us.
Continuing our focus on Public Private Partnership opportunities and successes, here is one more shining example in our special photo feature.
